Welcome.

Hi, welcome to my blog. I named it The Dilettante because I tend to be one (and note it is not the same thing as "debutante"). OK, before you check the dictionary - it means one who dabbles in a variety of arts and sciences (more or less). The word has a somewhat negative connotation, but I like to think of it as a positive trait. Basically I have a wide range of interests and hobbies and tend to get deeply involved one or more for varying lengths of time. At the moment I'm all about knitting and crochet, but I expect the list will grow. I am also interested in gardening, cooking, my kids and family (and about now you're thinking I'm Martha, but I assure you I am without her perfectionist streak), music, foreign cultures, and teaching and learning.
